Too much TV = idolatry?

Some teach often that watching too much TV or spending too much time with your family is idolatry. Nonsense. Idolatry involves some sort of religious practice opposed to God and having wicked spiritual entities as a focus, often involving human sacrifice of your children or engaging in orgies or temple prostitution. Too much TV is bad, but it is not idolatry.

We really don't have rampant idolatry in the culture as they did back then. We should not refer to modern distractions from a spiritual life as idols.

I claim TV is bad, period, because it contains bad images, bad attitudes, and immorality, including acted-out mortal sin. We should not inject such content into our brain, into our soul. Period.
